About Vastu Shastra

Vastu Shastra is a 5,000-year-old Indian system of spatial design. The name translates as "the science of living spaces." It describes how the orientation, layout, and energy of a building — your home, office, or any space — affects the health, relationships, and wellbeing of the people inside it.

It is not a religion and does not require any spiritual belief. It works through principles of direction, proportion, light, and elemental balance — all of which are observable and practical.

They share similar goals — both are ancient systems concerned with spatial energy and how a home affects its occupants — but they come from different traditions and use different frameworks.

Feng Shui is Chinese in origin and works with the Bagua energy map and the concept of chi. Vastu Shastra is Indian, rooted in the Vedic texts, and works with the five elements (Panchabhuta), the eight compass directions, and the Vastu Purusha Mandala. The principles sometimes align, sometimes diverge. Rashi practises Vastu Shastra.

No. Vastu Shastra comes from the same Vedic tradition as yoga and Ayurveda, but it does not require religious belief to practise or benefit from. Rashi works with clients of all faiths and none. The principles relate to direction, proportion, light, and elemental balance — all observable phenomena, not matters of faith.

Vastu operates on the principle that every space has an energy pattern shaped by its orientation, proportions, and the elements present within it. When this pattern is out of balance, it creates a subtle but persistent friction — in sleep quality, in the mood of the household, in how opportunities seem to flow (or not) in your life.

Rashi won't promise specific outcomes — no ethical Vastu consultant should. What clients consistently report is a meaningful shift in how their home feels, and over time, improvements in the areas they came seeking help with.

No. Vastu does not require belief any more than good architecture does. The principles work through spatial and environmental factors — direction, light, proportion, placement — that affect everyone regardless of whether they're aware of it. Many of Rashi's most sceptical clients have been her most surprised.

Vastu & UK Homes

Yes — with thoughtful adaptation. Vastu principles are universal; what changes is how they're applied to the specific constraints of UK homes. Victorian terraces, leasehold flats, 1970s semis, and new builds each present different challenges and opportunities. Rashi has spent six years working exclusively with British homes and understands these constraints better than anyone.

Absolutely — and the majority of Rashi's clients are renters. Every single remedy she recommends is non-structural and reversible. Nothing requires landlord permission, nothing risks your deposit, and nothing involves any permanent changes to the property. Furniture placement, sleeping direction, colour, plants, mirrors, light — all of it works within a tenancy.

New builds are one of the best opportunities for Vastu work — particularly if you haven't moved in yet. Rashi can guide furniture placement, room designation, sleeping positions, and desk setup before you've committed to anything. If you're buying off-plan, she can even advise on the floor plan itself.

Yes. L-shaped homes, extensions, open-plan layouts, converted properties — Rashi has worked with all of them. Unusual layouts often have specific Vastu patterns that are easy to address once you know what you're looking at. No home is too irregular for a meaningful consultation.

Rashi will tell you honestly. Some imbalances — particularly those tied to the fundamental orientation of a property — can be mitigated but not fully corrected without structural change. In those cases, she focuses on what can be done and explains clearly what cannot. You will never leave a consultation with a list of impossible demands.

Our Services

Yes — the Premium consultation includes an in-person visit to your property of up to three hours, with professional compass readings in every room. This is available across Greater London (Zones 1–6) for ÂŖ597 all-in, within 50 miles of London for ÂŖ747, and across the rest of the UK for ÂŖ897 plus agreed travel costs.

If you've already completed an Essential or Standard remote consultation and would like Rashi to visit in person, you can also add a 90-minute onsite follow-up visit for just ÂŖ150. See the Returning Client page for details.

Rashi is now focused exclusively on British homes. In the past she worked with clients remotely across the UK and Europe, but she made a deliberate decision to specialise entirely in the UK context — British property types, tenancy law, leasehold constraints, and the specific needs of the British Indian community.

All remote consultations (Essential and Standard) are conducted online, so if you're based anywhere in the UK, location is no barrier. Onsite Premium visits are available across the whole of the UK.

Commercial consultations — offices, shops, restaurants and business premises — are coming soon. Currently Sparkling Aura focuses exclusively on residential properties of 5+ bedrooms under the Premium tier. If you have a commercial enquiry, get in touch and Rashi will let you know when this becomes available.

Yes — this is included as a specific layout area in both the Standard and Premium consultations. Rashi provides directional guidance, placement recommendations, and advice on the ideal zone within your home for a prayer or meditation space.

Absolutely — and this is one of the most valuable moments to bring Vastu in. Getting input before walls go up or rooms are committed to makes a significant difference. Even at the design stage, Rashi only recommends non-demolition options where possible, and focuses on influencing decisions that are still open rather than requiring changes to what's already been built.

Yes. All consultations are available in both English and Hindi — ⤅⤂⤗āĨā¤°āĨ‡ā¤œā¤ŧāĨ€ ⤔⤰ ā¤šā¤ŋ⤂ā¤ĻāĨ€ ā¤ŽāĨ‡ā¤‚ ⤉ā¤Ē⤞ā¤ŦāĨā¤§. Please mention your preference when booking and Rashi will conduct the consultation in whichever language you're more comfortable with.

Booking & Pricing

Start with a free 20-minute discovery call — book one here. Rashi will listen to your home and situation and confirm which consultation tier makes sense. After the call you'll receive a booking confirmation, deposit link, and a checklist of what to prepare.

If you already know which plan you want, you can also reach out directly via the contact page.

Essential and Standard require a ÂŖ50 deposit to secure your slot. Premium requires a ÂŖ100 deposit. The remaining balance is due before your consultation takes place. Deposits are non-refundable after the second reschedule request.

A maximum of two reschedules are permitted per booking. The deposit becomes non-refundable if a third reschedule is requested, or if the consultation is cancelled after the second reschedule.

Yes. If you've booked Essential and decide before your consultation that you'd like the deeper Standard treatment, your ÂŖ197 payment will be credited in full towards the upgrade — you'll only pay the difference. This is available within 30 days of your original booking.

Remote consultations (Essential and Standard) can usually be booked within 1–2 weeks. Onsite Premium visits are typically scheduled 3–4 weeks in advance due to travel planning. If you have a specific deadline — a move-in date, completion date, or renovation start — please mention it when you get in touch and Rashi will do her best to accommodate.

After Your Consultation

Reasonably accurate is enough. Rashi can work with hand-drawn sketches, estate agent floor plans, or architectural drawings. She sends a free measurement guide with your booking confirmation if you need help. The more accurate your plan, the more precise the analysis — but don't let imperfect plans stop you from booking.

Essential: a 1-page written summary by email within 48 hours of your call.
Standard: a 5–8 page branded PDF report within 5 working days.
Premium: a 10–15 page comprehensive PDF report within 7–10 working days of your onsite visit.

Your video call is also recorded and the link is sent to you along with the report, so you can refer back to anything discussed.

No — and Rashi wouldn't recommend that. Every report includes a priority list, ordered by the changes most likely to make the biggest difference first. Many clients start with two or three remedies and implement the rest gradually. The follow-up call (Standard and Premium) is there specifically to check in on implementation and answer questions that arise.

Of course — it's yours. Many clients share it with partners, parents, or interior designers who are involved in the home. The report is written to be understood by anyone, not just the person who attended the consultation.

Standard clients receive a 25% credit towards a fresh consultation for their new property within 12 months of the original booking. Moving is one of the best times to start fresh with a Vastu consultation — contact Rashi and she'll arrange the discount.

This varies. Some changes — particularly moving a bed, clearing a corner, or repositioning a desk — produce an immediate shift in how a room feels. Deeper changes in relationships, sleep quality, or finances typically emerge over weeks or months. Rashi won't promise a timeline, but she will be honest about what changes are likely to have the most noticeable impact.
